A sealed beam lamp contains the base, lens, reflector and filament all in one sealed location. They are typically used as headlights for automotives. Sealed beam lamps allow for a more durable, cleaner, weather resistant lamps and headlamps as they are no longer constructed as separate pieces, consequently resulting in brighter and longer lasting light.
